Fire Watch

Part of a welding team, workers on fire watch ensure no smoldering fires result from cutting or welding metal. A fire watch ensures that sparks, flames, and slag from hot work do not start a fire. Fire watch personnel have a basic understanding of fire and firefighting issues. If a fire breaks out, the fire watch's primary duty is to sound the alarm and control the fire if possible.
